In addition to your base salary, a comprehensive array of benefits is available to Lombard Canada employees. Each benefit is specially designed to assist our employees in their needs and lifestyle.

  • Flexible Group Insurance Benefits Plan
Our Flexible Benefits Plan, including extended health care, dental, long-term disability, accidental death & dismemberment, and life insurance coverages, allows employees the option of choosing which insurance coverage best suits their needs. Flexible credits are given to offset some of the cost of benefit selections.
  • Employee Share Purchase Plan
This Plan provides employees with an opportunity to invest in the Company’s long-term performance by purchasing Fairfax Financial Holdings subordinate voting shares through payroll deductions. Fairfax shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under trading symbol “FFH”. To encourage participation and to help protect employees from adverse fluctuations of the stock markets and currency markets, Lombard Canada contributes a percentage of employee contributions.
  • Personal Property and Auto Insurance Plan
Lombard Canada offers full-time employees reduced rates on home and auto insurance.
  • Mortgage Assistance Plan
This Plan is designed to help employees overcome the high cost of home ownership and reduce interest costs by subsidizing a portion of the interest payment.
  • Charitable Donations Matching Program
Lombard Canada supports the community in which we work and live by matching personal donations made by our employees to registered charities.
  • Education Assistance Program
The Education Assistance Program is designed to encourage employees to reach their maximum potential within our organization by funding approved education costs.
  • Employee Scholarship Program
To encourage academic excellence and pursuit of higher education, Lombard Canada offers three renewable scholarships on an annual basis to children of full-time employees entering the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
This voluntary program is available to all employees and eligible family members. It provides confidential short-term counseling and advisory services 24 hours a day over the phone, in person, and on-line for a wide range of issues.
  • Pension Plan
This non-contributory defined benefit pension plan provides a choice of retirement options including a lifetime pension, ten years guaranteed and life income, and joint and survivor options. Pensions are based on "final average earnings" so that pensions are related to earnings at the time of retirement.
