Responsible for assisting senior management in the development of the corporate communications strategy.  Develops and edits various communication materials, and manages corporate communications activities in support of communication strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior management in the development of the corporate communications strategy.
  • Implement the corporate communications strategy to ensure consistency across the company.
  • Write and edit communication materials.
  • Manage corporate communications activities in support of communication strategy.
  • Identify, develop and implement communications best practices.
  • Develop and implement metrics for communications effectiveness.
  • Initiate and coordinate opportunities to increase visibility in the marketplace.
  • Develop and oversee brand strategy for the company.
  • Provide advice, consultancy and coaching to executives and other internal stakeholders on the effective use of external and internal communications strategies and tactics to support their business objectives.
  • Support senior leadership communications and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Significant years of communications experience in a corporate communications environment; Strong project management experience; Previous managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (i.e. Communications, Public Relations, Marketing) or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset.
  • Superior communication, writing and editing skills.
  • Able to work with long-term perspective in addressing client or business area problems/issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing projects and priorities, and deliver results.
  • Effectively uses formal and informal relationships to accomplish customer and business objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high standards of performance and goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration among team members and functional areas.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in identifying and analyzing relevant data and defining critical issues and alternatives.
  • Fosters and builds good relationships with both internal and external business contacts
